What We'll Do in This Class
My goal is that throughout this course you develop your knowledge of world history and practice the key skills of analysis, inquiry, and reflection on your learning.
In-Person Class Time
We’ll have regular in-person meetings every Tuesday and Thursday with the expectation that you will do the prep activities (noted on each Module page) before each class meeting. This is important so we can best use our time together!
Each class meeting will be a mix of:
- recaps of past week discussions and activities surfacing key points
- activities and discussions working through historical questions and sources in pairs, small groups, and full class. you are expected to engage and contribute as best you can (we’ll talk in class about what engagement can include)
- overviews of upcoming assignments: walkthroughs and clarifications
- mini-lectures from me, usually introducing key questions or framing
- structured work time on weekly assignments/projects: ask me questions, get feedback, and make significant progress on that week’s assignments.
